Ask The Expertchoosing the right "new" machine
Answer
we have a tinius 1959 60k super L #67480-8 since years ago, probably 1965 or so. we are comparing the prices of a new machine to ordering 3120 dollars worth of grips. the new machine has to be able to do lab experiments that can go at least to 45000 psi, because we test #36 flat bar and round stock. the old machine seems to eat up grips. it has a gauge that goes to 60000psi that is broken down into 3 ranges, low, medium, and high. it is also a bulky machine, that takes up some space in the lab. can you help me decide on what model of a machine that would suit a civil engineering college lab that stress tests #36 flat bar and round stock. the grips for the old machine is costly and we want to know if we should take that money and put to a newer machine, that would do the tasks and may be somewhat smaller in size. can you please help me make a rational decision?????? steve bitters at 843-953-7680 I called and discussed with him.
